Welcome to your account home base. Iowa Regional Utilities Association (IRUA) is a member-owned water utility serving rural homes, farms and communities across all or portions of 18 Iowa counties. Whether you’re moving in, moving out, setting up autopay or paying this month’s bill, you’ll find the tools and answers you need right here. We’re here to help, and we’ve kept every step as simple as we can.
Choose the task that fits what you’re doing today:
The IRUA customer portal at irua.epayub.com is the fastest way to handle most account tasks, day or night. Once you register, you can:
Setting up your portal account is easy. You’ll need two things:
If anything gives you trouble while registering, give our office a call and we’ll walk you through it.
IRUA offers several ways to pay, so you can choose what works best for you:
Card payments made online or by phone, e-check payments and portal Quick Pay payments include a convenience fee of $1.75 or 2.5% of the total payment amount. E-checks are accepted only through the portal. Autopay from your checking account has no fee.
Here’s what you need to know about how billing works:
Have a question about a specific charge? Our FAQs cover many common billing topics, and our team is glad to walk through your statement with you.
We want you to feel informed and prepared. IRUA keeps members updated in a few ways:
Keeping your phone number and email current helps make sure alerts reach you. You’ll also find service updates on our News & Alerts page.
Life changes, and your water service can change with it. If you’re selling a property or moving out of a rental, contact us before the change so we can record an accurate final reading and final bill. Our Stop Service page explains each step.
If you’re keeping a property but won’t be using it for a while, ask about a seasonal shutoff. A technician turns the water off and back on at the meter pit. It needs 48 hours’ notice, carries a $35.00 fee and is scheduled by phone. Monthly minimum charges still apply.
IRUA is a private, not-for-profit, member-owned association. Your service agreement includes a membership, and that membership makes you a part-owner. IRUA provides water to its members at cost, across a system of more than 16,000 connections and about 4,770 miles of pipe. Rates are set by a nine-member Board of Directors with the concurrence of our lenders, USDA-Rural Development and CoBank. Learn more about who we are.
Accounts opened after August 1, 2024 are required to use automatic payments, either an ACH withdrawal or a recurring card payment. If your account opened before then, autopay is still a convenient way to stay on track. See your autopay options.
Your due date depends on your billing cycle and falls on the first, second, third or fourth Friday of the month. Check your statement for your due date and cycle number, or log in to the portal to view your billing history.
Yes. The customer portal lets you link multiple properties, so you can keep track of each one from your portal account.
Card payments online or by phone include a convenience fee of $1.75 or 2.5% of the total payment amount. Checks and money orders sent by mail or left in our drop box, and autopay from your checking account, don’t carry that fee.
IRUA provides service 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When you call outside office hours, our answering service will take your call. Please have your account name, account number, property address and phone number ready.
