Moving, selling or ending a rental? Use this form to let Iowa Regional Utilities Association (IRUA) know you’d like to stop service or close your account. Telling us before the change helps us record an accurate final meter reading and send a correct final bill.

Who Should Use This Form

• Homeowners selling a property served by IRUA
• Renters moving out of a home served by IRUA
• Landlords reporting a tenant move-out or rental change

Only need the water off for a season? A seasonal shutoff may be a better fit. It needs 48 hours’ notice, carries a $35.00 fee and is scheduled by phone at 641-792-7011.

Please submit this form as soon as you know your date, and before the change happens.

• Your account number, if you have it handy
• The service address
• Your closing or move-out date
• A phone number and email where we can reach you
• Where you’d like your final bill sent

What Happens Next

Our team will review your request and reach out if we need anything else before your final meter reading. We’ll let you know about any final charges and how your final payment will be handled. You can pay your final bill online through the customer portal or any other way you usually pay.

• Landlord? A new Landlord/Tenant Billing Agreement is signed at each transfer.
